  • Understand the test format

  • Learn content and essential skills

  • Use test taking strategies effectively

  • Gain confidence and build test-taking stamina

  • Learn and practice study habits that can be used on future exams

Curriculum

Students benefit from both the rigors of a structured course and the accelerated learning you get from tailored lessons.

  • One-to-one Lessons: Optimized to your goals, your beginning skill set, and your testing schedule.

  • Guided Practice: With custom homework assignments to help you master new skills.

  • Full-Lenth Proctored Practice Tests: To help you monitor progress and build stamina under test-taking conditions.

Planning

Call us for a consultation. We can help you decide which test(s) to take, and which test date(s) to aim for, and draft a plan for your test preparation. It's also a good time to look into which application essays you’ll need to write and when you’ll start working towards those deadlines.

Schedule and Tuition

Test Preparation schedules are set in advance so that we can plan and teach each course properly. Typical Schedules:

  • ISEE/SSAT/HSPT: Students preparing for middle and high school entrance exams typically take 12-20 lessons.

  • SAT and ACT: Students preparing for all subject areas of these tests usually schedule 15-20 lessons.

  • AP Exams and SAT Subject Test: Students do 5-10 lessons.

  • Summer students usually meet 3-5 times per week for 3-5 weeks.

  • During the school year students meet 1-3 times per week.

  • Each lesson is 2 hours.

Note: We respect each student’s goals, and we never pressure families into putting more time or money into the testing process than they'd like. We will always help you maximize the time you have.

Tuition includes: one-to-one lessons, all books and materials, and admission to our full length proctored practice tests. Tuition is 115/hr and tuition for the course is due upon enrollment. The shortest course is 5 lessons (10 hours of instruction, Tuition: $1,150).

We want to thank you so much for the great help you gave our son Sammy, with his goal of increasing his SAT scores this fall. You provided him with a structure and a way of learning that allowed him to perform much better, raising his score a full 100 points. Best of all, he felt very positive about the time together with you and the way you taught him how to maximize his test taking abilities which will continue to serve him well in his college years.
